Futsal Winter 2016-2017

Futsal continues to grow in popularity with more teams and leagues forming every year.  Futsal is a game that teaches players how to develop skills by putting them into a much smaller space and discouraging contact.  While there are many similarities with outdoor soccer, there are specific laws and procedures that are unique to Futsal.  The Futsal course focuses on these differences (not on fouls and misconduct).  This is why the prerequisite for becoming a Futsal Referee is certification as a USSF outdoor Referee.

In the Futsal class we will focus on the differences between the outdoor game and Futsal (for example, 2 Referees, substitutions on the fly and DFKs without a wall) and the signals and techniques employed by Referees in Futsal.  You will be asked to complete USSF online training modules and an online test prior to the class.  We look forward to your joining us on the Futsal court this winter.
